Post 1 : Lucid Dreaming inspired Films

Lucid Dreaming occurs when the dreamer suddenly realizes that whats happening is far from reality. Some can control their dreams like in a movie where you control everything, in a sense that you create your world. Lucid Dreaming can be mastered by an individual, there are few website that teaches a person on how to do a lucid dreaming and how to control it. everyone can experience it, even those people who are unaware of it.

I have experienced lucid dreaming once, it was like 10 years ago where I suddenly realize that whats happening seems to be far from reality but I got lost and panicked, I did not know what to do so I tried to wake up. It's weird, because waking up is also a dream, then I didn't realize that its just a dream until I "really wake up". I have read an article about people having lucid dreams and their experiences on it. And there are also some films that is lucid dream inspired.

As I look through the internet I found this website that focuses on what I am looking for, it is "World of Lucid Dreaming" and there is an article there by Rebecca Turner about "Lucid Dreaming Movie Reviews". The article is about Films and animations that are produced which has the idea of lucid dreaming, movies which resonate with the concept of dream control and consciousness inside an alternate reality world. and the approach they made to the film.

Most of us all knows this already, as one of the most popular lucid dream inspired film, "Inception". Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in this sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is the best there is at extraction: stealing valuable secrets inside the subconscious during the mind’s vulnerable dream state. His skill has made him a coveted player in industrial espionage but also has made him a fugitive and cost him dearly. Now he may get a second chance if he can do the impossible: inception, planting an idea rather than stealing one. If they succeed, Cobb and his team could pull off the perfect crime. But no planning or expertise can prepare them for a dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. In inception they can share dreams where in real world it is not yet possible to share a dream with another person, but maybe in the future we can. In lucid dreaming we can create a character in our dream that acts on its own, that character can either be our company or just a passerby.

Another film that's also good is the film "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" major roles are played by Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet. This film is about Joel Barish (Jim Carrey) who undergo into an operation to erase his memory of his ex-girlfriend  Clementine (Kate Winslet). As his memory fades away, he is starting to regret having his memories removed and wanting to save it so he tried to save Clementing from being erased in his dreams.

It was such fun to watch films that gives us idea of what we can do in our body, like in lucid dreaming. Many people would not be aware of this if they didn't watch these films for example. We should look around more, and appreciate this things, many of the films we watch are actually telling us something that we don't know. Example is this two films, where they are suggesting that we can control our dreams.
